Book - "Way Out West" by Wyn Cooper
In conjunction with Poetry Reading with Wyn Cooper and Martha Collins,
Way Out West is a slow-burn literary thriller and love story set in Nevada and Arizona in the 1980s. The novel follows the developing relationship between the two protagonists as they try to complete a sci-fi B movie which may or may not be a cover for nuclear testing. In order to succeed, they have to face their own troubled pasts before they can solve the riddle of the government's intentions.
Wyn Cooper has published five books of poetry, including, most recently, Mars Poetica. His poems, stories, essays, and reviews have appeared in The New Yorker, The Paris Review, Poetry, Ploughshares, AGNI, The Southern Review, Five Points, Slate, and more than 100 other magazines. Way Out West is his first novel.
